12.3. A rack of a forward suspension bracket


The prevention

Shock-absorbers of racks vary only in steam.


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a forward part of the car and establish on supports.
2. Remove a wheel.
3. Disconnect from a rack a hydrodrive tube.
4. Turn on two nuts of fastening of a rack to a rotary fist (are specified by arrows) and disconnect a rack.
5. Ask the assistant to support a rack from below, and turn away three nuts of fastening of a rack to a cap of a mudguard of a motor compartment (are specified by arrows).

The prevention

The central nut not to turn on! Get a rack through a motor compartment.



Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clamp the bottom part of a rack in a vice through linings.
2. Screw nuts and упершись in hairpins the lever, turn away the top nut of a rod of the shock-absorber. Completely a nut not to turn on.
3. Compress a spring by means of the adaptation so that the top plate could rotate by hand.
4. Turn out a rod nut, keeping a rod from проворачивания.
5. Remove a washer, a lining, the top cap.
6. Remove the plug, the bearing, the top plate of a spring and the rubber buffer of a plate. Pay attention 10 times of installation of details.
7. Get a spring, a dust cover, the rubber buffer and a plate.
8. Check up a condition of details, especially rubber buffers. If necessary replace.
9. Check up presence of a leak from the shock-absorber and a rod condition on all length.
10. Check up presence on the case of cracks and damages.
11. Check up rack work, at first having put forward a rod for all length, and then moving and putting forward a rod for the length of 50-00 mm. Smooth resistance to rod moving should be felt.
12. If traces of a leak, mechanical damages are observed, and rod movement is accompanied by "jerks" the rack is subject to replacement.
13. The spring and all details can be established on a new rack.
14. Examine a spring.
15. If strong corrosion of a spring, a crack on coils, deformations or any signs of a doubtful condition replace a spring are found out.
16. Clamp a rack in a vice and establish the rubber buffer a plate and a dust cover.
17. Compress a spring and establish in a plate. At installation the coil termination should come into deepening of a plate (arrow).
18. Establish the top buffer and a plate, correctly having arranged a spring coil in a plate. At installation of a rack of the marksman on the top plate should be turned in a cross-section direction outside (And – towards a forward part, In – a cross-section direction).
19. Establish the bearing, the plug and the top cap.
20. Replace a nut and a rod washer, tighten a nut with the set moment, keeping a rod.
21. Remove the adaptation for spring compression.
22. Establish a cap of a nut of a rod.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish a new lining of the top fastening of a rack.
2. Establish a rack so that hairpins have entered into mudguard apertures, and cut and an arrow on the top plate have been turned in a cross-section direction outside.
3. Tighten nuts with the set moment.
4. Combine apertures in a rack and a rotary fist, tighten new nuts and bolts with the set moment (nuts should be turned on a car course).
5. Fix a hose скобой on a rack.
6. Establish an arm of conducting of the gauge of speed (on cars with ABS-system).
7. Establish a wheel and lower the car.
