13.2.1. A body and the bottom
The general condition of a body of the car is one of factors which very strongly influence the car price. Body maintenance service rather simple, however, should be carried out regularly. The neglect technical service, especially after small damages, can quickly lead to the further deterioration of a condition of a body and increase in cost of the subsequent repair. It is very important to watch a condition of those elements of the car which are not on a kind, such as the body bottom, an internal surface of wheel niches and the bottom part of an impellent compartment.
The basic form of care of a body is washing – it is desirable with a considerable quantity of the water watered from a hose. It will remove all dirt which could stick to the car. The dirt is necessary for washing off so that it has not scratched colouring. Wheel niches and the body bottom also are necessary for clearing regularly water to remove gathered dirt which contains a moisture and promotes corrosion formation. As it is strange, but the best time for clearing of the bottom and wheel niches is crude weather, when a dirt damp and soft. At very crude weather the bottom is cleared from большей parts of adjournment independently, and this time is the best for survey.
Periodically, if only the wax sheeting is not put on the car bottom, it is recommended to clear the body bottom, and also an impellent compartment by means of steam that it was possible to spend careful survey and to define, what small restoration or repair work is necessary.
Processing by steam can be spent in many repair trucks, and it is necessary to remove all oil adjournment which sometimes collect thick enough layer in some places on the bottom. If you cannot spend processing by steam, use solvents with which it is necessary to process the bottom by means of a brush, the formed dirt then it is possible to wash off simply water. Pay attention that these methods are not recommended to be applied on cars with a protective wax covering of the bottom as it can be removed. Cars with such covering are necessary for examining every year, it is desirable before the winter period, at this bottom it is necessary to wash and restore a sheeting. In an ideal, it is recommended to put completely a new sheeting. Also, it is recommended to use such wax covering for filling of panels of doors with it, порожков, box-shaped sections for additional protection against rust formation if such covering has not been put by the manufacturer.
After the painted surfaces will be washed, wipe their suede for reception of faultless cleanliness of a surface. The layer of pure wax polishing will provide additional protection from химикалий, containing in air. If the paint has grown dull or was oxidised, process its cleaning and polishing means for shine restoration. This operation is labour-consuming enough, however such dimness usually occurs that neglected a regular sink of the car. At work with the painted metal surface it is necessary to be especially cautious as for its processing it is necessary to use not abrasive cleaning and polishing means not to damage polishing. Always check, that ventilating and drain apertures and tubes were pure that water could flow down freely. Chromic coverings are necessary for processing the same as the painted. Oil film which is often formed on a windscreen and glasses, it is possible to remove by means of a suitable cleaner for glasses. For glass processing never use wax structures or the chromeplated polishing.
