PRINCIPLE OF WORK OF THE DIESEL ENGINE

In the diesel engine pure air is sucked in in cylinders and there is exposed to very high degree of compression. At the expense of it тепмература in cylinders raises above temperature of ignition of diesel fuel. Diesel fuel ignites in itself, thus spark plugs here are not required.

On the cold engine of temperature of ignition of fuel only at the expense of compression it is impossible to reach. In this case it is made having warmed up engine (prechannel). For this purpose in each vortical chamber of the engine there is a candle накаливания, warming up the combustion chamber.

Fuel is sucked in by directly distributive pump of injection from a fuel tank. The injection pump creates a necessary high pressure (nearby 130 bar) which is distributed on cylinders in conformity and with the necessary sequence of ignition. Simultaneously the regulator of the pump of injection doses out giving of fuel depending on degree задействавания gas pedals. At a given time diesel fuel is injected through atomizers in форкамеру the corresponding cylinder. Depending on the form форкамеры, or the vortical chamber the soaked up air under the influence of compression gets whirl that promotes optimum mixing of air and впрыснутого fuel.

Before hit in the pump fuel passes through the fuel filter. There it is cleared of pollution and water. Therefore it is especially important to merge water from the filter or to replace it according to service regulations.

The pump of injection does not demand service. All mobile details of the pump are greased with diesel fuel. The pump is resulted from a cranked shaft through a gear belt from which the camshaft is resulted also.

Working under the spontaneous ignition scheme, the diesel engine cannot be switched off by removal of pressure of ignition and has for this purpose the magnetic valve. At deenergizing of the lock of ignition a food from the magnetic valve acts in film and it locks the channel of giving of fuel. Thanks to it it is guaranteed that fuel giving interrupts before steering wheel blocking at вынимании the ignition key. At start of the engine pressure moves through the switch of the lock of ignition on the magnetic valve and it opens the channel of giving of fuel.

THE PREHEAT DEVICE

On the cold engine of temperature of ignition of fuel only at the expense of compression it is impossible to reach, therefore the engine is necessary for warming up. For this purpose in each chamber of combustion the rod candle преднакаливания is screwed. The candle накаливания consists basically of the case and запрессованного in it of a heating core. As soon as pressure, a spiral накаливания in a heating core within several seconds is applied warmed up to temperature 850 With thanks to what the period of a warming up before start-up lasts seldom more than 10 seconds. Check of system of preliminary heat

If there are difficulties at engine start, at first it is necessary to check up an engine compression. If pressure of a compression is not enough, the engine is not got at low temperatures. If the compression is perfectly in order, check up work of all candles накаливания.

Check conditions

The storage battery is charged completely, pressure of the battery should make a minimum 12В. The engine cold (air temperature) or engine temperature more low +60 S.Pri more to an engine heat disconnect the tip from the gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid.

Check of giving of a current

This check can be made without removal of candles накаливания.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Connect the voltmeter between a candle накаливания and weight.
2. Insert a key into the lock of ignition and include preheat. In 3 seconds there should be a pressure of the battery (12В), differently check up contacts of the switch of the lock.
3. Then muffle ignition, and include preheat. The measuring device for 20 seconds should show pressure of the battery (12В or above). Time depends on candle temperature накаливания, pressure of the battery, temperatures of a cooling liquid and from position of the switch of ignition / of a starter between ВКЛ and OFF
4. Disconnect plug S on a starter that the starter could not work.
5. For short time turn the ignition key on "Start-up" and stop in position "Ignition ВКЛ". The voltmeter for 20 сек should show pressure of the battery (12В or above).
6. Connect plug S to a starter.
7. Start the engine and leave to idle. The voltmeter for 5 mines should show pressure of the battery (12В or above), presumably temperature of a cooling liquid more low 60 With.
8. If there is no current giving, give a monitor of system of preliminary heat for check to a workshop.

Check of the relay of management by preheat
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the relay.
2. Check up the coil of the relay an ohmmeter on breakdown (0 Ohm).
3. Connect an ohmmeter to a relay exit. Connection should be present.
4. Put pressure of the battery to coil contacts. The relay should be switched and resistance on an exit should make 0 Ohm.
5. Otherwise the relay replace.

Check of candles накаливания
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check up the current carrying tyre on rust formation, if necessary clear or replace.
2. Check up a spark plug on external appreciable damages.
3. Disconnect the tip of a monitor heating. Connect an ohmmeter between the plug 5 tips and weight. Should be: 0 Ohm, differently replace a wire.
4. Unscrew a cable of connection and the current carrying tyre of a candle накаливания.
5. Check up an ohmmeter resistance between the candle plug накаливания and the block of the engine (weight). There Should be 0 Ohm. If breakage is found out, a candle replace.
6. Thus check up all candles.

The prevention

True resistance of a candle накаливания is not enough and it is difficult to measure it usual measuring by devices. Demanded value: 0,650 Ohm. Before measurement the candle should be cleared of oil.


7. A faulty candle накаливания turn out and replace.
8. Screw a cable of connection and the current carrying tyre, preliminary having established spring and lining washers on a candle.
9. If it is disconnected, connect the tip of the gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid.

The prevention

If malfunction is not found, however the engine is started badly, it is necessary to examine candles at the moment of heat. For this purpose remove atomizers and examine candles through apertures.

10. The scorched tips of candles are basically a consequence of faulty atomizers.
11. If similar candles (arrow) are found out, it is enough of them to replace only.
12. It is necessary to inspect atomizers on pressure of injection and tightness (it is carried out in a workshop).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the bottom facing of a steering column.
2. Disunite a socket of the lock of ignition.
3. Connect to the tip (1) ohmmeter and check up resistance (2 – the tip to the ignition and starter switch). Connection should be absent.
4. Insert a key into the ignition lock. Resistance should make to 0 Ohm, differently replace the switch of the lock of ignition.
5. Establish the bottom facing of a steering column.
